Hi my name is Kate, im 20 and this summer im going to Tanzania as a part of a wildlife conservation team. I will be in Africa for a month monitoring wildlife, and developing conservation areas in the Selous region, and improving the lives of locals by contributing to the resources that feed the area, and increasing awareness of the threats to the magnificent species that populate the area, many of which are facing extinction.
I've started this blog to record how fundraising is going and my preparation for my trip in terms of fitness and sponsorship experiences. I will also put my diary from Tanzania on here to read on my return and id like to show the effect that this experience has on me. This is the first time i have ever attempted anything like this and so far the organisation has been a challenge and ive still got the injections to go!
